Tuberville updates status of Lester, Dunlap
One of the biggest issues facing this Auburn team as they prepare for Saturday's season opener against Kansas State is the status of first-team tailback Brad Lester.
Lester, who missed the Cotton Bowl due to an academic-related suspension, is still facing the same academic issues and may not play Saturday.
Following a two-hour practice Wednesday evening, Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said Lester remains AU's starting tailback. Lester missed the first 20 minutes of the workout due to an afternoon class.
"He's our starter," said Tuberville. "If anything else happens, I'll let you know but he's our starter."
Tuberville didn't offer a specific timetable for a resolution of Lester's eligibility and likely can't go into detail due to student confidentiality laws.
Tuberville also addressed the status of offensive tackle King Dunlap who was arrested Monday for a failure to pay a speeding ticket. Tuberville said Dunlap will not face any team sanctions.
