Briscoe gets late birthday present
Call it a late birthday present. Kansas freshman wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe, who just turned 18 on August 31 and played in his first college game a day later. Briscoe, one of the Jayhawks most hyped freshman didn't disappoint, getting his first touchdown catch of his career in the first quarter. Briscoe smiles when he thinks back on the play.
"It was supposed to be a run play, I guess some things turn out different than you expect," he said.
Likewise, most Kansas fans can say Briscoe turned out different they expected as well.
The man who was the most talked about freshman during summer workouts by players and coaches, Briscoe didn't always get the attention. or most of his senior year at Cedar Hill in Texas, Briscoe played in the shadows of another receiver, William Cole.
