Special teams show up big again
If the offense was the sizzle to Arizona's victory Saturday night, then special teams was certainly the steak.
Lost amid the well-deserved hoopla about the Wildcats' offensive fireworks in a 45-24 win over Northern Arizona was a sterling performance in the kicking game.
Antoine Cason's 70-yard punt return for a touchdown turned the momentum in favor of the Cats way back when it was only a 7-0 second-quarter lead.
NAU did an admirable job of kicking away from Cason all night. On this occasion, Cason ranged far to the left sideline to field the kick, made a few people miss, then raced across the field and out-ran everyone down the right sideline to the end zone.
In fact, the Lumberjacks were so field-position challenged early in the game that they attempted two quick kicks on third down.
