Norwood sparks victory over Kentucky
COLUMBIA - Eric Norwood was South Carolina's best player on both sides of the ball.
Norwood, a sophomore defensive end, returned a pair of fumbles for touchdowns, becoming just the fourth player in NCAA Division I to accomplish the feat, sparking No. 11 USC to an impressive 38-23 victory over previously unbeaten and eight-ranked Kentucky Thursday night before a national TV audience and 76,220 delirious fans at Williams-Brice Stadium.
USC improved to 5-1 overall, 3-1 in the SEC, and now becomes a serious contender to capture the SEC Eastern Division and advance to the SEC Championship game for the first time since the Gamecocks joined the conference in 1992.
