PUTTING UP THE POINTS
Pitt's 45 points is the highest offensive output this season, and are the most since they scored 52 at Central Florida on Oct. 13, 2006.
A NEW RECORD
Conor Lee set a new school-record for consecutive extra points. Lee now has 64. He was 47-of-47 last season, and is a perfect 17-of-17 so far this year. Carson Long (1974-75) held the previous school-record of 60. Lee broke the record on Pitt's second touchdown in the second quarter.
THE REAL McCOY
LeSean McCoy's three rushing touchdowns gave him nine for the season. He passed Curvin Richards, who had eight as a freshman in 1988. Tony Dorsett had 12 rushing scores as a freshman in 1973.
Tonight also marked McCoy's second three-touchdown performance of the season. He also ran for three touchdowns against Grambling. He ran for 165 yards on 32 carries. The 32 carries are a new career-high, and it's the first time a Pitt running back had 30 or more carries in a game since LaRod Stephens-Howling had 32 carries against Connecticut last season. That must be a bad omen for the Panthers, being that game was also an overtime loss, 46-45.
As if McCoy's running wasn't enough for the ground game, Conredge Collins had a career-high 52 yards on nine carries. His previous career-high was 33 yards against Michigan State in 2006.
