White better today than a week ago
Pat White is further along in his re-hab than a week ago at this time, said Mountaineer coach Rich Rodriguez Sunday.
"He'll be better this week than last. He was sore Saturday; we could have played him. He didn't get a (pain-killing) shot before the game. He was limited last week. I can tell you more tonight," Rod said by teleconference.
For the third straight game sophomore Jarrett Brown replaced junior White due to injuries. Against USF on Sept. 28, White failed to play in the second half with a thigh bruise. Against Syracuse Oct. 6, White came out of the third quarter with a sore shoulder.
Rather than re-aggravate the shoulder in Saturday's 38-13 Homecoming victory over Mississippi State, Rod went first to Brown and then senior Adam Bednarik to finish out the game, which was 28-0 after one quarter.
Quinton Andrews, a bandit safety, was held out with a sprained knee. Defensive tackle Scooter Berry rested--with the exception of several fourth quarter snaps against the 4-4 Bulldogs-- a pair of sore knees.
