Young Cody Habben getting better and better
Sophomore offensive lineman Cody Habben played a solid game at left tackle last week against Oregon, opening up seams for the Washington run game and keeping the pressure off quarterback Jake Locker. The Huskies eventually fell to Oregon's punishing offense, but the Washington offense played one of their best games of the season, with Locker passing for 257 yards and four touchdowns.
Senior lineman Ben Ossai was expected to be alone in the number one left tackle spot before the 2007 football season began, but Habben made his mark with the Washington coaches and is now listed along with Ossai in the starting spot on the Huskies depth chart.
Habben replied humbly when we asked him how he got himself the job.
"I don't know, to be honest. Just being in the right place at the right time I guess. I'm not too sure. That's more of a question for (Washington offensive line) coach (Mike) Denbrock really. I don't know why he puts me in, but he does," Habben said.
