Former Lincoln standout gets green light
Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln DB/LB Deshaun Barnes signed with Tennessee in February and planned on playing in orange in the SEC for at least four years.

Barnes inked with the Vols earlier this year following a standout career at powerhouse Lincoln. However, the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder failed to qualify and had to search for other options.
He could've taken the popular road. He could've enrolled in junior college or gone the prep school route. But Barnes chose to work, work out, run, and most importantly, study.
It paid off. Recently Barnes received news that he has now received full qualifying status from the NCAA Clearinghouse. As a result, he plans to enroll at Auburn for spring semester.
