The 'sky's the limit' for Withey
The talent in the frontcourt will have a drastic upgrade next season for the Arizona Wildcats after the commitment from San Diego Horizon center Jeff Withey.
The one-time Louisville commitment looks to be a force at the center position that can go along with the all-around skill of a power forward like current Wildcat Jordan Hill.
Arizona is known for producing a large amount of guards and wing positioned players that go to the NBA but may be starting a different trend as of late. Former Wildcat Channing Frye was chosen as the eighth pick overall in the 2005 NBA Draft to the New York Knicks.
The latest pleasant surprise for Wildcat fans is Hill, who emerged as a game-changing player towards the end of last season. He as well has the potential to be a lottery pick in the coming years.
The newest acquisition to the coaching staff looks to be in Withey's favor as well. Assistant coach Kevin O'Neill is known for getting big men to excel at the next level and his ability to develop post players is something that is important to Withey.
With all the previous stars and big names fresh in his mind, Withey understands what type of opportunity it is to play for a great program like Arizona.
