Mountaineers place focus on EWU

MountaineerIllustrated.com BOONE, N.C. - After a narrow win over James Madison this past Saturday, Appalachian State's dreams of winning a third straight national championship are still alive, as they prepare for their second round game against Eastern Washington. No team in FCS (formerly I-AA) history has won three consecutive national championships. It's a feat the Mountaineers are working hard to achieve. "We've still got three games left but it's crazy to think that we're here after a rough season," said safety Corey Lynch. "We've had a lot of wins but a lot of them have been close, just kind of shaky wins. It's good to be back here in the situation where we want to be." Although a national championship is the final objective, the team's main focus remains on its upcoming opponent.
