An offensive showdown awaits
It's that time again. The day that all Appalachian State fans have been waiting for since their beloved Mountaineers walked out of Finley Stadium with its second straight championship has finally arrived.
With the Mountaineers' final test and roadblock to three-peat just hours away, the excitement is starting to build exponentially in and around the App Nation. But, in order for this hysteria to continue, the Mountaineers must conquer perhaps its toughest test since opening week.
During yesterday's press conference, one member of the Delaware media asked the ASU panel of players if they felt like they could get in a "shootout" with the Blue Hens exceptional offense.
While to most this question sounds nothing less than absurd, I guess in some regards it holds a trace of legitimacy. The fact of the matter is the Delaware offense is perhaps the most complete the Mountaineers have faced all year long (outside of Michigan) and have the capabilities of doing damage to opposing defenses in multiple facets of the game.
