Dowtin visits Cal, is he solid to UGA?
A couple of UGA verbal commitments (Toby Jackson and Dwayne Allen) are known to be looking around and making sure of their decisions, Marcus Dowtin quietly took a visit to the West Coast recently and not much has been said about it. The four-star athlete out of Fork Union (Va.) visited California early in December and we caught up with him to see what he thought of his visit and if his commitment to Georgia is still strong.
"I went out to Cal for a visit and the city was nice, they had nice academics, but the surroundings and facilities did not impress me that much," said Dowtin. "They did not have what Georgia has."
Dowtin committed to Georgia over California, Michigan, Clemson and others during the summer and he has been solid ever since. Did this visit to the west coast change his thinking at all?
"My commitment to Georgia is still very strong," he said. "I haven't seen anything better that Georgia and I am sure I will be signing with them on signing day."
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound athlete just feels better at Georgia than anywhere else.
"Between the coaching staff, the players, the surroundings, the academics and the football, you can't get better than Georgia. I have been more impressed with everything at Georgia from the beginning."
