All-SEC snub motivation for Coleman
Antonio Coleman had a heck of a year for Auburn.
The sophomore defensive end led AU and was among the SEC's best with 17 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks. Coleman put up those big numbers despite playing the first five games as a backup to preseason All-American Quentin Groves.
But when it came time for the SEC to honor its best players, Coleman was nowhere to be found.
Coleman wasn't picked by the coaches on their first- or second-team All-SEC postseason team. He was also left off the AP squad, even failing to make honorable mention.
"He's one of the better players in the league," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville of Coleman. "He played well too, made a lot of plays.
"I thought he was deserving, but those things happen."
