When senior-to-be Blake Field announced through his father Sunday he was transferring from Auburn to Valdosta State, it appeared the Tigers would be down a quarterback heading into spring practice.

Maybe not anymore.

Columbus (Ga.) Carver four-star QB Deron Furr, a 2008 commitment, plans to enroll early on the Plains and be at Auburn by the end of the week.

"I'll be enrolling early," said the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder. "I'm getting all my paperwork in now and I should be up there by Wednesday or Thursday.

"I'm very excited. I'm ready."
