Williams gets surprising news in Athens
Georgia commitment Nick Williams has been excited about his future in Athens since he committed to the Bulldogs, but he is even more excited about it now after getting some surprising news during his visit.
"It was great and I had so much fun at Georgia this weekend," said Williams. "I did not know I would have this much fun or love it that much, it was all great."
Williams, like the other three official visitors on campus was committed to Georgia going into the weekend and he had seen the campus, the academic presentation, the facilities and other features UGA offers, so he was there to see how it would feel to officially be a Bulldog this time six months from now.
His host is a friend of his and a former teammate of his down at Bainbridge and he had some words of wisdom for Williams.
"Darryl Gamble was my host and he is my boy. I have known him for a long time and it was cool to hang out with him and see what he was up to."
"He talked to me about Georgia and he told me I picked a great school and that I just need to work real hard to make an impact at Georgia. He let me know that I am not the man anymore and it is all about who works harder now. He told me just to come in focused and go to work."
Gamble wasn't the only current Dawg Williams hung out with over the weekend. He got to meet a lot of his future teammates.
"I went out with Darryl, Brandon Wood, Caleb King, Rennie Curran, Vance Cuff, Bruce Figgins and bunch of the other players. I spent a lot of time with them and the other commitments that were there."
All of the commitments on campus could end up playing on the same side of the ball and Williams said they got along great.
"We spent so much time together and we just got closer this weekend," he said. "I already knew 'goo' (Bacarri Rambo), but I met Xavier Avery and Makiri Pugh. They are all great and we are all excited about playing together."
