First offer in, Burnette names a leader
Lagrange (Ga.) - Troup County offensive lineman Chris Burnette is making a name for himself early. The combination of his size, skills and academics have him on many recruiting lists already. This junior has picked up his first offer, he is hearing from many schools and he has an early leader.
"I received my first offer on December 31 from Central Florida," said Burnette. "They offered my teammate Tay Irvin too."
The Golden Knights are the first to offer this 6-foot-4, 290-pound interior offensive lineman, but they will not be the last. He is hearing from many schools early on.
"I get a lot of letters, but I think Clemson, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Notre Dame would be the mina ones I hear from. They send me a lot."
Two other schools out of the SEC have not shown much interest yet, but Burnette hopes that changes.
"Georgia and LSU are schools I like that I hope start recruiting me," he said. "Those are two big schools that I like and I want to get offers from."
The in-state Bulldogs are actually a favorite of his.
