Saturday, at Rivals' Five-star Academy, Corona (Calif.) Centennial linebacker Vontaze Burfict announced that he was ready to make a commitment.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound all-state selection is already recognized as one of the nation's top recruits, but 12 months before signing day 2009, Burfict wants the recruiting process to become an afterthought instead of a distraction.
