Nwachukwu takes in Norman for first time
With the commitment from Eric Ward dominating the receiver recruiting news during Oklahoma's first weekend scrimmage it was easy to forget that the Sooners officially entered the race for Allen, Texas standout Uzoma Nwachukwu. The 6-foot-1, 186-pound slot receiver had been hearing from Oklahoma for quite some time but Bob Stoops extended an offer on Saturday afternoon.
"Coach Jay Norvell introduced me to coach Stoops and we had a long talk about how they need receivers and how they liked my tape and then he said that there was an offer on the table and he wants me to be a part of the Sooner tradition," Nwachukwu said. "That was the first one that I actually got face to face.
"It definitely meant something, because coach Stoops is real cool guy. He is real fun, you can tell he is a great coach and that he cares about his players and I could see that listening to him talk about them."
