Brock likes what he sees from defense
TCU has started the 2009 class with a big splash racking up seven commitments thus far. Three of those commitments are considered top 100 players in the state and the Frogs are looking to add more.
One player they have their sights on is Copperas Cove, Texas linebacker Tanner Brock, arguably one of the state's best at his position. The two-time all-state member has six offers on the table from the likes of TCU, OU, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Arizona State, and Tulsa.
Brock was in Ft. Worth Saturday to watch TCU's football scrimmage and more importantly catch a glimpse to see how improved older brother Logan is who plays tight end for the Frogs.
"It went real well," he said. "I went up there to watch Logan but I didn't get to see much of him because on the third play he got hurt and he was done. But I got to watch how the defense played and saw how they were whipping that tail."
Watching the defense succeed at TCU is common for fans of the program. But does Brock think his style of play fits the system and can help continue that tradition.
"Absolutely," Brock said. "I like how the linebackers move around and show different things. They make the offense think one thing and they do a different thing. They run around a lot."
Speaking of running, a track meet might conflict Brock plans of attending the Frogs spring game Saturday. Brock throws the shot put and discus and also runs the 300 hurdles(40 seconds) and 4 x 400 relay.(Personal best 50.3 seconds)
"We may have a track meet so I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it to the spring game. If we don't then I definitely plan on coming."
TCU still sits high in Brock's mind but before he makes a decision on anything he plans on seeing a few more schools.
"I'll definitely take more visits," he said. "I'll probably take some unofficial visits pretty soon. I plan on making a decision by summer because I plan to graduate early."
