D.J. Adams is a game changer
NORCROSS, GA. - One of the more sought after players in the 2009 recruiting campaign is Norcross, Georgia running back DJ Adams.
At 5-10 and 195 pounds, Adams combines great speed and power in a combination that is electric. More times than not, with his 4.48 laser timed speed, he simply takes it to the house.
PI caught up with Adams to talk about his offer from East Carolina and to update his recruitment.
D.J. ADAMS can take it to the house on any play.
"I actually didn't know I had an offer from ECU until about two weeks ago when I was going over my list with my coach," said Adams, "In fact I got stack of hand written list of letters from each coach today."
Norcross plays in the tough Region 7 5-A in Georgia, the highest classification in the state where they were region champs and made it to the third round before finally being eliminated in 2007.
When asked about a college major, Adams says he likes to write and will likely look to major in either journalism or some sort of broadcasting degree in college.
In addition to the ECU offer, Adams sports scholarship offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Notre Dame, Maryland, North Carolina, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and others.
Adams tells PI that he plans to make his college decision before the season opens. Does D.J. have a favorite currently?
"I really don't have a favorite right now, about the time you do the list changes so I'm wide open right now, said Adams. "I am planning to make decision in early to late July, that's my plan as of now."
Does Adams plan make a visit to Greenville?
"They have offered me an official visit, I haven't made a trip yet, but since it is so close, I would probably make that unofficial visit," said Adams who rushed for 1462 yards on 205 carries as a junior and 14 touchdowns along with another four catches out of the backfield for another 160 yards and two touchdowns.
