Offers climbing for Brehaut
Southern California for the class of 2009 is loaded with quarterbacks one of the very best is four-star Richard Brehaut (6-3, 215, 4.8) from Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos. The offers have been rolling in over the spring and there seems there is no letup in sight.
Colleges from coast-to-coast have been lining up to watch him throw and because of his sharp spring he picked up two recent offers from Oregon State and Utah.
The Beavers and Utes, join San Diego State, Boise State, Idaho State, Colorado, Kansas, Arizona, Washington State and Louisville.
Oregon State and Notre Dame came out to watch Brehaut throw on Tuesday and the Beavers offered him on the spot to the Los Osos coaches.
Utah came out a week ago Thursday (May 1st) and they like the Beavers, offered Breahaut after the workout.
Ohio State assistant coach John Peterson came by yesterday and told the Los Osos coach that he is going to recommend to Buckeye head coach, Jim Tressel to offer Brehaut.
Louisville quarterback coach Jeff Brohm recently emailed Brehaut with their offer saying they want Brehaut to be the Cardinal quarterback of the future.
To give you an indication how impressive Brehaut has been this spring, Kansas offered him a scholie even though they already have one quarterback committed to the class of 2009.
Notre Dame went away very impressed when they watched him on Tuesday, but they have a few other quarterbacks to look at before they tender an offer.
The same story goes with UCLA. Bruin offensive coordinator Norm Chow is scheduled to Brehaut later this month because the Bruins are looking over candidates.
What makes his spring performance in front of college so impressive is he also playing baseball so he hasn't had the time to throw a ton of footballs to stay in "football shape".
