Kuechly setting up visits
Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier linebacker Luke Kuechly took his official visit to Boston College about a month ago so the Eagles find themselves in a 'wait and see' position. They are maintaining contact with the three-star prospect, and he is busy trying to set up his remaining visits.
Kuechly was at Boston College the week of the Eagles' game against Georgia Tech in early September. Since then he has mainly been focusing on his season, but he has made progress on the recruiting front.
He has basically narrowed his list to four, so that should make things easier as the weeks go by.
"I haven't taken any visits recently," Kuechly told EagleAction.com in a recent interview. "The last one I took was to Boston College. I've been talking to BC and a few other schools like Virginia, Duke and Stanford.
"Since I've already taken my official visit to BC, I'm just working on setting up trips to those other three schools."
Duke's recruiting class is almost full and that could play a factor down the road. The Blue Devils have verbal commitments from 25 prospects, and according to some reports may only take one more commitment. That's something Kuechly is taking into consideration.
"I've got to talk to them about that," he said. "They just said they'd like me to come down and check things out. I'm going to try to give them a call soon and find out where things stand."
While he hasn't been able to watch Boston College's past couple of games he has been keeping up with the Eagles as much as he can. He has also been speaking with the coaches whenever possible.
"They've said they really like me and that I'd be a good addition to their class," Kuechly said. "I try to watch their games, but I don't think they've been on television here the past couple of weekends.
"They just told me they had a tough game against Georgia Tech. I know they rebounded, though."
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect said he is being recruited primarily as a linebacker. He plans on making his decision after his senior season.
