Video: 'Different Team, different mindset'
EAST LANSING - Senior safety Otis Wiley has been involved in quite a few comeback bids that have come up empty during his four years as a contributor on the Michigan State defense.
But all of those heartbreakers spilled over to joy in Spartan Stadium as Wiley and his teammates celebrated a stunning 25-24 comeback win over Wisconsin.
Given Michigan State's history in close games during Wiley's time as a Spartan, bridging an 11-point deficit with less than 10 minutes remaining might seem improbable without divine intervention.
Wiley isn't counting out the possibility of help from above.
"We just give all the glory to God, man," Wiley said. "You saw it; that was some nothing but Jesus stuff out there. That field goal was, we would usually be on the back end of something like that since I've been here at Michigan State. We'd always be up and then they would win the game with a field goal. Just to have a win like that in our stadium and have our fans see that and experience that, it does a lot for our program and shows it is turning around. We have quite a bit of momentum going into the next game, a home game."
