San Diego Preview
Two teams that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season will square off tonight at Humphrey Coliseum.
Mississippi State, who defeated Oregon before losing to Memphis in the tourney, will host San Diego, who upset No. 4 seed Connecticut before falling to Western Kentucky in the big dance last season, tonight at 7 p.m. on Fox Sports South.
Tonight will mark the first meeting between the two schools on the hardwood. The Bulldogs hold a 5-1 record against teams from the West Coast Conference having last defeated Santa Clara in overtime during the 2005-06 season.
MSU comes into the game with an 8-4 record and averaging 74.8 points per game. The Bulldogs are shooting 45.6-percent from the field, 34.7-percent from 3-point range and 69.9-percent from the free throw line. They outrebound their opponents by 3.6 per game and are surrendering 64.5 points.
