BeaverBlitz.com Oregon State didn't have to do much to impress Stockton (Clalif.) St. Mary's quarterback Cody Vaz on his official visit last weekend - after all, Vaz committed to the Beavers last June and has never waivered from his decision.
Instead, it was Vaz who impressed OSU coaches with his red-hot finish to the high school season. The senior led his St. Mary's squad all the way to the CIF Division II State Championship, where the Rams lost a 37-34 heartbreaker to Cathedral Catholic. The loss was a bitter pill, but Vaz was brilliant in defeat, setting CIF bowl game records for completions and yards with a 31-for-46 performance for 336 yards and four touchdowns.
