Lavey taking as many trips as possible
With decisions coming earlier and earlier for prospects, many high school juniors are turning the visit process upside down. Instead of taking just five official visits in the fall, they are seeing ten or more schools during the spring at their own expense. If they can afford the expense, they can even make multiple trips to the same program and take in junior days, individual visits with coaches, spring practices and even a spring game if need be.
Celina (Texas) linebacker Caleb Lavey is a prime example of this. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound defender has taken unofficial visits to Texas A&M (twice), Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and Baylor so far this year. He is now heading this weekend to hit two Midwest programs that have offered him in Notre Dame and Michigan.
