Will Elite Receiver Check Out Vols?
One of the areas that the new Tennessee coaching staff tried to address as much as possible in their shortened 2009 recruiting efforts was speed and playmaking ability on the perimeter. Lane Kiffin & Co. were able to do that to some degree on Signing Day, but making a bigger dent in that department is a large focus of the 2010 efforts.
McDonough, Ga. wide receiver Markeith Ambles (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) is emerging as a prominent target of the Vols' recruiting efforts.
In a good break for the new staff, Ambles had been targeted early by the previous regime, and as a result already has some awareness of the Tennessee campus and the history of the football program.
Rivals.com rates Ambles as a four-star prospect and the No. 23 overall player in the nation.
