O'Brien breaks down spring practice
Saturday will be the third edition of the Red-White Spring Game under the tutelage of Tom O'Brien. Year three into the O'Brien regime finds the program getting more accustomed to the former Boston College head coach's system as they complete the spring.
"It's certainly been positive," O'Brien said. "We've had the same staff intact for the third year in a row and I think that's really important. It's showing itself on the field this spring with the same coaches and the same system and the same organization and the way we do things. I think it's been better for our team."
NC State will practice again Thursday, and then have a very light workout Friday, which is also State's alumni day. That's a new tradition that was started by O'Brien when he arrived in Raleigh. Former players are invited to watch the practice Friday, and then there will be a social event held for the alumni that evening.
Then Saturday the Kay Yow Spring Game starts at 1 p.m., and O'Brien said he is still looking for improvements from two areas on the team.
