Notre Dame wanted to get a look at Dion Bailey before offering a scholarship. At least that's what the Irish coaching staff told the safety from Lakewood, Calif. That stance didn't last long, as Notre Dame offered the athlete late last week. The scholarship's timing caught Bailey off guard, although the West Coast prospect expected to eventually score one.
