Douglas has two early favorites
WACO, Tex. -- This weekend, Arlington Lamar made the drive to Waco Midway High School to compete in a 7-on-7 state qualifying tournament against some of Central Texas' best teams. The Vikings, along with Bastrop and rival Arlington High, all qualified for the state tournament to be held July 10-11 in College Station.
One of the big reasons that Lamar was able to go 5-0 on the day, defeating Belton, Cedar Park Vista Ridge, Lampasas, Austin High and Bastrop, was running back Ja'Terian Douglas. Last year's leading rusher in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the 5-foot-11, 180 pound back averaged over 200 yards per game as a junior. On Saturday, he proved to be a receiving threat as well.
