Williams back at safety
It appears that sophomore Nick Williams is back where it all began.
According to strong safety Reshad Jones, the Bainbridge native is back working out at safety after being moved from the secondary to Sam linebacker late last season.
"He's been strictly with the secondary," Jones said of Williams. "But I guess it depends on what the coaching staff wants."
Williams (6-foot-2, 222) was presumably moved back to safety due to the recent loss of Jon Knox who transferred to Georgia Military for academic reasons.
Along with Jones at strong safety and Bryan Evans at strong, Georgia's safety corps Quintin Banks, Williams, Bacarri Rambo, Sanders Commings, Makiri Pugh, Andrew Johnson and freshman Shawn Williams.
"All those guys are out here working hard pushing each other," Jones said. "Everybody's getting the system down, doing what they can."
Williams played in 12 games for the Bulldogs last year after an All-State career at Bainbridge High where he also handled the quarterback, kicking and punting chores, along with his duties at linebacker and safety.
