Burns ready to compete for starting job
Kodi Burns will enter preseason practice as Auburn's most experienced quarterback.
But 19 games played and eight starts have only earned Burns the opportunity to compete for the starting job. It's up to him to prepare as best he can this summer.
"(I'm improving) my overall game -- being a quarterback and being a leader," Burns said. "The biggest thing is that when you're in a game that guys know if we're down by one or two touchdowns, we can come back because they have confidence in (me)."
In order for his teammates to have confidence in him, Burns has to have confidence in himself and the offense he's running. That's an area that was lacking at times last fall and even this spring.
