As a 10-year old in 1981, I was gathered up, along with all my cousins, to go on a trip to New Orleans for a weekend. It was a family outing, and probably included about a dozen kids. What to do with a dozen children ranging in age from 6 to 14? My mother put it to a vote. We could go to the circus, or to the LSU vs. Tulane game in the Superdome.
