Thompson has three he is most interested in
For the second year in a row coach Willie Snead has taken his Belle Glade, Fla., Glades Central squad on a getaway to the mountains of Ellerbe, Ga. This year the experience has been somewhat different due in large part to the recent death of a former teammate. Receiver Deonte Thompson spoke with GatorBait.net about several recent events both on and off the recruiting trail.
"We're working out together, bonding as a team," said Thompson from the mountains of Georgia. "We're getting away from everything. It's a little different this year because of what just happened with the accident. It was a hard week for us."
Thompson is referring to the tragic automobile accident that claimed the life of former Raider Stanfield Watson, who was laid to rest on Saturday the 22nd.
The untimely passing of his teammate has opened Thompson's eyes.
"You take that as an example of what can happen at any time. You have to live (life) for all you can."
