Wake position grades: honors for offense
BC-Wake Position Grades
Despite being responsible for Wake's first seven points on the board only :14 seconds into the game, it was clear that Matt Ryan was well aware that there was still 59:45 left on the clock; plenty of time. Ryan was cool, poised, and confident the remainder of the way. This type of composure not only results in 406 passing yards and 5 TDs, but also rubs off in huddles, making the entire team better.
Rushing for a combined 66 yards, Andre Callender and A.J. Brooks have certainly left room for improvement. What is worrisome is that during the game they were always both visibly a split-second too slow to really break out for any significant gains. While speed cannot be taught, L.V. Whitworth and Jeff Smith are waiting in the wings and can hopefully bring that footspeed that the offense needs.
