Martinís heard a lot about UGA, now has offer
If you are thinking about top national recruits in the class of 2010, then the name Chris Martin should come to mind. The California junior already has offers from schools coast to coast and he has picked one from the SEC.
"Georgia offered me on October 15 and they are the most recent school to offer me," said Martin. "Georgia is the 13th school to offer me a scholarship I think. My dad keeps up with most of my recruiting mail and offers, but I am pretty sure I have a total of 13 offers."
Georgia joins the likes of Southern Cal, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and UCLA in pursuit of Martin. He is getting a lot of attention early, but this offer from UGA was a little surprising.
"They had sent me a couple of questionnaires and just the simple recruiting mail, so I was not expecting that offer. I was surprised and it was a good surprise."
Believe it or not, the West Coast athlete has been following the Georgia program for years. He has no ties to UGA, the state of Georgia, or the East Coast, but he has interest in the Bulldogs.
