March 23, 2010Denzel Douglas
5-foot-10 point guard; Westchester
Often overshadowed by teammates Dwayne Polee and Jordin Mayes, Douglas has proven himself to be a capable leader for the Comets. He has piled up assists this season while showing an increasing affinity for scoring on his own.
5-foot-9 point guard; Mayfair
A strong student who averaged over 20 points and 5 assists this season, he has offers from UC Riverside and Lehigh. Douglas simply makes his teammates better, but his small stature could scare off bigger programs.
6-foot point guard; Foothills Christian
Hatcher never faced a high level of competition as the Knights demolished the other small schools in San Diego, but some respect has to be afforded to the player who broke Jason Kidd's career assists record. He averaged 16.6 points, 9.4 assists and 5.7 steals and shot over 40 percent from three-point range this season.
6-foot-3 shooting guard; Fairfax
Weathers was the bright spot in a down year for the Lions. He should have great appeal for any team that wants a pure shooter
5-foot-8 point guard; Gahr
Ware is an extremely quick guard who thrived in the high-velocity system at Gahr. In addition to his lack of size, Ware will have to adjust to the more organized style of half-court play at the college level. Averaged over 16 points and five assists but slowed down towards the end of the season.
6-foot point guard; San Diego Hoover
Ingram started his career as a shooting guard and struggled at times with the transition to floor general. Playing with junior forwards Angelo Chol and Dame Ndiaye allowed him to pile up the assists his senior year and lead Hoover to a 27-7 record. He will have to improve his long-range shooting to truly thrive at the position.
