Spring Review: Harden received extensive work at right guard during the spring where coaches hope he will serve in a backup role capacity.
Fall Preview: Harden only got in two game last year, and barring injury probably won't see much more time than that this fall.
Ben Harden wears 76 for the Dawgs today. He appeared in two games last season including the bowl game against (almost future SEC foe) Texas A&M. Depth is always needed on the offensive line so anything that the former Perry High School star can bring is definitely appreciated.
Generally speaking this 76 needs no introduction. "General" George Patton was the captain of the 1966 SEC Championship team. He was a 3-time All-SEC defensive tackle and an All-American in 1965. He later made the NFL and played one season with the Atlanta Falcons.
Tim Morrison wore 76 on the 1980 National Championship team. Tim along with fellow senior Nat Hudson anchored the right side of the offensive line during the title run. Tim was named All-SEC during that season for his efforts.
76 is still the number that every receiver is chasing. Brice Hunter hauled in 76 passes during his sophomore season in 1993 to break a Georgia record (the previous record was 48). During his freshman season, Brice only had three receptions, which is only one more than what Marlon Brown had during his freshman season last year.
76 is also the number of yards in Herschel Walker's longest run as a Georgia Bulldog. Herschel liked that number so much he ran for it twice. The first time came in only his second game as a collegian in a contest against Texas A&M. The second time was also in his freshman year during game eight in a showdown against future Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
