Miles will have his say
LSU coach Les Miles repeated his message as he made brief comments to the media Wednesday evening about allegations in a Sports Illustrated story of improprieties in the Oklahoma State football program some of which came during his time as coach in Stillwater.
As he had done following the Tigers' game Saturday night against UAB and at the Southeastern Conference coaches' teleconference Wednesday morning, Miles defended the manner in which he ran the Oklahoma State football program from 2001-04.
"We did things correctly there," said Miles at his post-practice press conference. "I have a very strong feeling that it was done in the right way. But, I wasn't at every place at every time. At some point in time, I'll have my say. Right now, I'm focusing on my team."

Miles admitted that he has discussed the situation with the players on his LSU team.
"I have addressed (story) with the team," Miles said. "I told them 'I've treated you the same as I did them. You know me.' The players understand it. When Sports Illustrated contacted me I had no idea it was anything like this."
Miles spoke briefly about his team as it prepares for Saturday's game against Kent State. Improvement is the by-word for the Tigers this week.
"The practice week has gone pretty well," Miles said. "I like the tempo of practice. Guys understand that there is work to get done and these are days you are not going to get back. You must have attention to detail during games. (Mistakes) cost you points on game day."
LSU freshmen: Quick influence on defense
Miles indicated that running back Jeremy Hill may have a larger role in the offense this week. He also said that the offensive line is slowly making strides.
"Jeremy Hill is getting better," Miles said. "He's prepared to take more carries this week. I think the offensive line is coming. They have better technique and better footwork, but they are not there yet."
