Lake City Coach Justin Gentry is watching the stock of one his key players, linebacker Scotty Cooper soar.
In the past two weeks, this young linebacker, who you saw first on SCVarsity.com, has received offers from the University of South Carolina, Clemson University and from North Carolina State University.
Today, the 6-1,200lbs linebacker received an offer from Virginia Tech.
The offer was verbal. Coach Beamer has a policy of he or one of his staff seeing the players before offers are written.
At this point, Cooper has no favorites.
Cooper, a 6-1, 200lbs two-way starter, collected 96 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. He had eleven tackles for loss and four sacks. He's a vital part of the Panther running game and is very dangerous as a kick returner.
Cooper is all about SPEED. He ran a 10.5 100 meters in the region track meet last season. He has good, quick reactions and can really accelerate to ball. He gets off of blocks really well. is excellent in pursuit, not only from speed standpoint but the angles he takes, as you can see on film when he tracks plays down from behind.
Stay tuned to SCVarsity.com for recruiting updates on this Top Fifteen player.
