February 9, 2007Some serious star power will descend upon Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, N.J., this weekend for the PrimeTime Tour. Several intriguing match ups are on the bill, one of which is a Saturday night showdown between Tyreke Evans and his American Christian (Pa.) squad against national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy (Va.).
Oak Hill Academy (Va.) vs. American Christian (Pa.)
Can Tyreke Evans and his workhorse inside Michael Glover contend with the loaded starting five of Oak Hill? Evans and his backcourt mates will have to deal with Nolan Smith, Brandon Jennings and Alex Legion. And in the paint, Glover has Julian Vaughn and Howard Thompkins to contend with.
St. Patrick (N.Y.) vs. Lincoln (N.Y.)
Corey Fisher and Jeff Robinson have been on a roll for St. Patrick. But the interesting matchup in this game involves two top ten sophomores- Dexter Strickland of St. Patrick and Lance Stephenson of Lincoln. Even though they will likely not guard each other, it will be interesting to see them on the court together. The head-to-head matchup will likely be Robinson vs. Stephenson.
DeMatha (Md.) vs. Schenley (Pa.)
Jerai Grant and Chris Braswell (if he is in the lineup) will get a dose of DeJuan Blair's power game in this match up. There is also the potential of a head-to-head battle between five-star guard Austin Freeman and one of the better unsigned senior wings D.J. Kennedy
St. Benedict's (N.J.) vs. Notre Dame Prep (Mass.)
No. 1 prospect Michael Beasley has an opportunity to solidify his ranking against the terrific play this year of the other elite prospects in the 2007 class when he hits the big stage Sunday night. At his side, Beasley will have the support of recent Providence commitment Jamine Peterson.
