Coaches on Rivals Radio
Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 19th.
On in-state recruiting: "I think it is important. We put a lot of emphasis on getting the best players out of the state of Virginia. We certainly got kids that we like and we feel good about. That's where it all starts, being able to get good players out of yoru own state. But I also think this is the most talented out-of state-group that we have ever had."

Tommy Bowden, Clemson
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 12th.
On his stable of running backs: "Well we do have (James Davis and C.J. Spiller) coming back, but of course James will be coming out next year, (and) possibly C.J., so it was important that we sign two quality backs this year. We felt we did that with Jamie Harper, a 225-pound back who could possibly help us this year, and Andre Ellington."

Tim Brewster, Minnesota
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 17th.
On the key to being a successful recruiter: "I love the competition of recruiting, figuring out a way ... to get a great player to come play for our program. And the key thing is that we have a whole staff full of guys that love recruiting. There's just so many great things to sell here at the University of Minnesota."

Phillip Fulmer, Tennessee
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 36th.
On landing four-star ATH E.J. Abrams-Ward: "I'm excited about E.J. He's a big, athletic-slash guy who can play a lot of different positions. I knew he was a good player from watching him on tape, but I was super impressed when I went and watched him play basketball. I think he's going to be an outstanding receiver."

Gary Pinkel, Missouri
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 26th.
On how hope spring eternal on Signing Day: "It's kind of interesting, this happens every year, all over the country, and you've never heard one college coach come out and say, 'Well we just had an average year, we didn't do very well.' Everyone is very positive and excited, and they should be. Hopefully you still are when you evaluate these things three or four years down the road."

Mark Richt, Georgia
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 6th.
On recruiting the state of Georgia: "It's huge for us. That was one of the biggest attractions to the University of Georgia for me, knowing that the talent base in this state was tremendous. Two-thirds of our class is from Georgia. We do go out of state, but when we do we're looking for guys we can't find in our state."

Randy Shannon, Miami
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 4th.
On a very strong group of linebacker prospects: "We're excited about them. We've got guys who have speed and size and quickness that can play different positions. When you have a chance to coach guys that can play a variety of different positions and make a lot of plays, you can be successful on defense."

Charlie Weis, Notre Dame
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 2nd.
On signing a top quarterback prospect (five-star Dayne Crist) for the second year in a row: "First of all, you never can have enough good quarterbacks. If you don't recruit a good quarterback every year, you are missing the boat, because you never know what is going to happen at the quarterback position."

Tyrone Willingham, Washington
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 25th.
On his progress at Washington: "You must measure your progress in wins, and obviously we do not have enough yet. But ... we're seeing it improve every year. So now we are putting ourselves in position, especially with the leadership we have at quarterback in Jake Locker. I think we are goingt to be one of those teams that makes a real impression."

Ron Zook, Illinois
Rivals Team Recruiting Rank: 23rd.
On the late commitment from DT Corey Liuget: "Corey is a big guy that can run extremely well, and could probably play a lot of different positions. You never sacrifice size for speed, but he's got 'em both. He plays the game very, very hard, and hopefully he can help us open up those avenues (into Florida) for our football program."
