EVERMAN- It did not take long for the Everman defense to establish its dominance as the Bulldogs improved to 2-1 with an easy 53-6 win over the Fort Worth Southwest Raiders (0-3) at Marr Stadium. Everman's defense held Southwest to just 49 total yards, 39 of which came on a pass from sophomore QB Ike Adim to freshman WR Robbie Rhodes.
Everman was sluggish on the offensive side of the ball all afternoon as the rain undoubtedly contributed to Everman and their six fumbles on the afternoon. After holding Southwest to a three out on their opening drive the Bulldogs recovered a Southwest fumble on the punt and quickly converted that turnover into points as Cory Franklin scored from seven yards out to make it 6-0. On the next drive Sam Fry recovered a fumble by Southwest freshman QB Wesley Harris and returned it twenty yards for a score to put EHS up 12-0. Barry Browning would score on a two point run to put the Bulldogs up 14-0.
The lead would grow to 21-0 in the second quarter on a six yard run by Shawn Sanders and right before halftime sophomore kicker Daniel Cruze hit a 28 yard field goal to make it 24-0 at the half.
The second half turned into a laugher with Everman's James Bailey returning the opening kickoff 71 yards for a touchdown. Aaron Bellazin would add a defensive touchdown returning another Harris fumble 25 yards to make it 37-0 Everman.
The onslaught continued with Bailey catching a 32 yard touchdown pass from Robert Davis and Franklin adding a 28 yard run. Sandwiched between those scores was an Everman safety as DB Terrance King tackled Harris in the end zone.
Southwest's only score was set up by the pass from Adim to Rhodes and with 3:34 left in the game Adim scored on a five yard run to get the Raiders on the board.
