We pay them millions to teach the players to execute, if they can't they are NOT coaching. If they are recruiting guys who are not as good as advertised that is on the coaches.
I believe we have more talent than nearly every team in college football but we are not utilizing it right now. That is on the coaches. We are recruiting well so it comes down to the coaches not doing their jobs.
How can anyone who has watched LSU this year think they are a championship caliber team? Maybe if you're watching reruns of the Washington game or last year's games but certainly not this year. This is a lifeless team right now with very little on field leadership.
I hate it for LSU but denying reality won't win us any games; in fact it will lose us more down the road. I would love to be wrong and LSU win out this year but realistically we lose to South Carolina, A&M, Alabama and Arkansas.

It looked to me like LSU's defense is more than good enough, especially with Minter healthy. He played a great game Saturday. Offense looked stale, but I think some credit has to go to the Florida defense. Not to say that LSU doesn't have a lot to work on offensively, but the Florida D was insanely physical, and they were really jacked up. The LSU OL injury made a difference too, for sure.
Jefferson was a difference-maker last year, and so far Mettenberger hasn't been able to be that playmaker. He's good, and I'm sure he'll improve, but to what level?
I agree with you that it just doesn't look like LSU is playing at the level it's going to take to beat Alabama, or even SC. BUT - a packed Tiger stadium is hard to overcome. I wish I could be there Saturday.
