How do y'all feel coming off a loss to UF with us coming to town? Do y'all have any concern or think you'll beat us like you always do? Just curious what the fan base thinks.

I honestly don't think anyone thought your team was 'afraid'.
And gonna avoid the temptation of commenting directly on the 'USCjr' stuff, other than to say it just shows your ignorance.
But if you as a fan aren't afraid of your offense against our defense, well, you're just not that football saavy.

I've been to Tiger Stadium. Unbelievable place to play. Their fans are insane and love their team as much as we do. Look at the statistics, it is a very hard place to earn a " W". If we leave there with win then we definitely earned it. I recommend: 1- enjoy the food - Best in the world IMO. 2 - go hang out with with their fans.i know there are horror stories just like anywhere but some of the most fun I have ever had. 3 - enjoy the game. I'm expecting a defensive slugfest.

Our offensive team is not playing very well, but I can promise you our defensive one is.  As to South Carolina I can tell you I think you have a great team, but rest assured a team that is 30-4 over the last three years and holds a 16-2-1 record against South Carolina is very unlikely to be afraid of much. I might also mention LSU has either the best record or the 2nd best in college football over the last 10 years

Enjoy your trip and enjoy it here, but save your boasting for another board. If you want to talk football post away--if you are here to flame remember where you are.

There are much better LSU boards than this one.Tigerdroppings,  Tigerfan, Tigerroar.  etc. Maybe I'm wrong but I would not come on here and expect much interaction.

As far as the game goes.  I'm hoping our O is more balanced than Floridas.  SOS shut down the pass after going up on UGA keeping his cards close.  I think we're going to need to see more TE play and DL Moore to have a chance against the Tigers.  I just don't see us running much on them.  Howeve, our Oline seems to be getting better.

Here are the situations in which I don't want to play LSU...
1) At their place
2) At night
3) After a close SEC road loss to a top 10 opponent
4) After my team just won a big game and is reading their own press...

Look, SC was the best team in the country last weekend. The most prepared and looked unbeatable against a VERY talented UGA team. But that was last week and next week is all that matters. You are delusional if you think that last week will make it any easier to beat LSU this weekend.

I love SOS, as I was at UF in the late 90's and he made UF's program, just as he made SC's, but if I were SC, LSU is the LAST team I would want to face. IF UF somehow pulls out a home win over SC in two weeks, I will have the EXACT same concerns about dropping the game in JAX to UGA. Best of luck.

And for God sake's:
THEIR (possessive) vs THERE (location) vs THEY'RE (They are)
AND
YOUR (possessive) vs YOU'RE (You Are)

Damn! Change your name to Grammer Gator and talk some real football.  You state the obvious!  No one wants to play at the Real Death Valley at night No Sh!T!  Come up with that all on your on?  You don't think SOS is trying to limit the hype so his players don't go into the LSU game overconfident.  I don't think they will but every coach guards against it.  How bout giving me some details on how the LSU Defense played you guys.  Did they stack the box?  Play Cover 2?  Blitz much?  Did you even watch the game?  Better yet go post on your own board your game is over with LSU.  Go stalk the Vandy board!

Here is what I KNOW: LSU is 46-1 in night home games the past 10 years. The one loss? To a Tebow led FL team in 2009 (3-13). OBTW, UF was ranked 1 at that time. Winning in BR at night is hardly ever done, if my USC Gamecocks pull it off, they will have earned it because LSU does not give up the bacon easily in that situation, in fact, they almost never do.

the toughest game on the schedule.

Hey Guys, its going to probably go like this.

1.  Our O finds its feet like it has a few times this year and we will win.

2.  If not you win.

3.  There is always the freak plays here and there that can turn a game, but you will have to be up by a lot to take this crowd out of the game.

My Prediction:  I think our team is extra motivated and not far off from working out the bugs, but our OL is really banged up and out of sync with no one playing where they began in the first game.  I think SC has a great chance to come in and win, but I don't see LSU losing two in a row.  It can happen but I don't see it.  LSU in a close one.

Then...We could suck and I could be delusional from a good 10 year run....who knows.

From what I've read, your QB is not a runner and needs time to pass.  You OL is banged up and downright weak in one spot.  Our defense is one of the best in the nation.  So I think you may have trouble scoring from the LOS.  Your defense is as good or better but our offense is capable of scoring in multiple ways.  I've lived in New Orleans and have a lot of Tiger fans for friends.  I used to go to LSU games with them both in BR and on the road.  There is no tougher place to win a game and that environment simply cannot be duplicated, for many reasons.

I think this game will come down to special teams play.  LSU will try to create turnovers for defensive scores or to set-up short field situations for a shaky offense.  Your return game is another x-factor as we generally have to run down the returner from behind.  Our FG kicker is suspect, 'cause we normally score TD's and frankly just don't know.  He's missed a couple.  Our returner is a burner and could make a difference too.

This should be a hard fought, low-scoring, close game but anything is possible in BR.  Our team has strong leadership and is pretty deep at critical positions.  I think that will make the difference for a close Gamecocks win.  We have a mature bunch of players that aren't afraid of lining up with anyone.  That being said, they've never played in Red Stick.

Overlook some of our fans.  Like any team experiencing a little success for the first time, we have our share of newbies and band wagon jumpers that just showed up with their chests out.  When we lose, they'll go back cheering for Clemson.  Also, and my sincere plea;  please take it easy on our fans coming to the game.  I've warned everyone I know that's going, that when you get loud, you get attention.  It's what you say when you get loud that can turn ugly and Death Valley is the last place you ever want to start a pissing match.  Hopefully our fans will represent well and we'll all say the best team won.

Good luck for the remainder of your season.  Here's hoping for no zebra-impact and no-injuries.
10/9 6:25 AM | IP: Logged Thanks cock star for your intelligent response. I too agree with most it is near impossible to win at night in Death Valley. I am by no means looking forward to this game. But that doesn't matter bc our players and are coming off a huge win in which our team seems to be hitting on 7 out of 8 cylinders. I feel like this is out best chance to beat LSU in your house. I would rather play y'all coming off a loss in which you looked lost on offense than y'all coming off a big win in the swamp in which y'all found yourselves on offense and began to click. If our guys come in motivated and play to their potential, don't allow a game changing momentum shifting TD on a turnover or special teams, slow the run, and score 20 pts I think we win. Either way its a huge task. I know out guys are confident as well as level headed but at the same time have a ton of respect for Les Miles, LSU, Death Valley, and the players on the team. It's should be a good one.

Forgot to mention Florida was able to run the ball well against y'all and me not being cocky just feel we as good or better running game than them. I was a bit surprised at their success in the ground. However I don't think we'll try to pound it simply to keep your D off balance but who knows.

HEARD LSU HAD A RASH OF THEM FROM LAST SATURDAY.  CAN ANYONE EXPAND ON WHOM AND SEVERITY?

HOPE NOTHING SERIOUS BUT IF THEY HAVE TO MISS 1 GAME THIS WOULD BE A GOOD ONE!!

GO COCKS!!!

LSU lost 3 starting LBs from last year.  3 new ones were prepared in the spring.  One of the new starters was declared ineligible, then 2 more went down vs UF.  The new/replacement guys didn't do very well vs UF.  UF ran on the LBs as the DL are supposed to channel the running plays to the LBs and the LBs were not in position.

LSU also had some OL go down.

Elsewhere LSU has injuries but no huge problems as they have adequate reserves.

On the other side, the LSU O is sucking for the 5th consecutive year as this staff has not shown that they can develop a passing attack..

Sensitive bunch you cocks.  USCjr is the way most Rivals posters distinguish Southern Cal from South Carolina, no malice intended.   FYI - LSU has had a "less than average" offense for several years now, and certainly faced as good or better defenses than what USCjr is bringing to BR on Saturday.  I am neither afraid nor concerned, as I do not let football control my emotions or life on any level.  It is just a game.  Safe travels to the USCjr fans that are making the trip.

Larry,
It is worth noting that we went to a heavy, 7 OL set many times to be able to run the ball successfully. SC might not choose to do that, and while ML is one of the best RB in the business, UF is VERY deep on the OL and was able to keep linemen fresh all 4 quarters. Gilly is a very underrated RB. 500+ yards in 5 games, he is having a great season.

We wanted to throw more, but LSU is so freaking quick in the backfield, there was just too little time to let WR get downfield. But when you can run, you don't try to pass.
10/9 12:34 PM | IP: Logged Believe me I've been following Gillislee this yr and know he's a beast. While we may not be as deep at OL we have a bunch that has been whipped in to shape and is used to running it 40+ times a game. We do have 4 capable tackles. I don't know what to expect for an offensive gameplan bc Steve Spurrier is planning it and he obviously knows how to do that. He'll prob take what Florida did and try to mimic it a little but then again we're gonna play our game.

LSU fans, hope the game is a good one and there are no serious injuries on either side.  Of course, I will be pulling for USC, but we will have to play the best game we have played this year in order to win.  You guys have a great team and your boisterous fans will make it even more memorable and tougher to win at your house,  Your fans are like our giving up, at least, 7-10 points before we ever kickoff.

USC has a very good team and an absolutely fierce defense. That said, I'll be a true believer after you guys win two big games back to back. @LSU would silence the critics if you get it done but I would hardly guarantee that if I was a USCe fan.

BTW, you can take offense to the "e" if you like, USCw has a "w" for many posters for the sake of confusion. Stop being so sensitive about it and people will stop using it to get under your skin.

I understand you have a tough time with spelling, Magnus, but not to worry.  By your own admission, it's "commonly misspelled."  That being the case, it would seem you would have that word (grammar) down pat by now.  But then, I don't know your mental history.

Most of us know where we are in the historical SEC pecking order.

Completely respect LSU and the legend of their night prowess at Tiger Stadium, but that record was built on a lot of hand picked directional schools. Not too many "big wins" at night.

Looking forward to experiencing it firsthand. First team to 17 wins.

Latin for Great and Crista for well you can look that up. Seriously to come on an opponents board and misspell another Fan's Avatar Name. Shame on you! On the LSU Tiger's board no less. Shall we continue to debate the vernacular or talk football? I'd prefer the latter.

Call me lazy but I have to keep my t's crossed and my i's dotted on client proposal's, acquisition orders as well as customer relations correspondence on a daily basis. Thanks, Mangus!

You complain about "dotting and crossing" on client proposals, etc.  Isn't that what secretaries are for?  But, maybe you are one...sorry, nothing wrong with that.

Oh, I find it interesting you deemed it necessary to edit your brief two paragraph missive twice.  And, the edits were ninety-two minutes apart!  What's that all about?

Gonna let you go now, Mangus.  It would behoove you to look into taking a few adult (?) education courses after work.  Could possibly elevate your skill-set to the level required on sports message boards.

If you have no further questions, I'm outta here...good luck!  Oh, one more thing, better check your punctuation in your last post...abysmal -- but, that's for another day.

Second: Am interested in knowing your definition of "business hours."  If you punch a clock I imagine you have a pretty strict view of what these are.

Both black marks for anyone looking to hire.

Third: Are you assuming I am looking for a job?  Could it be I have appropriately delegated duties to my qualified employees?  Am I independently wealthy (part of the 1%)?  Or, could I be retired?  Whatever you think, it is clear you have a very limited view of of how profitable business is conducted.

Another view might be the educated (Anna Mule) schooling the uneducated (Mangus).  It's simply English, Mangus.  However, if it is your second language you're doing a masterful job.
