There is no stadium more tougher to play in on a Saturday night than Death Valley, i bet Saban was hoping for a day game instead.  LSU will have lots of time to prepare with a week off... not to mention crazed LSU players and its fanbase have been waiting a while for this game.  It will be loud, rowdy and no doubt a 93.,000 plus crowd going bonkers will give the tigers that Death Valley mystique it always does.  As history has shown, no team entering Death Valley on a Saturday night leaves the same way they came in.  If Bama "somehow" does win, it will come with a price...  Bama players will be banged up after this game, just ask Lattimore for South Carolina.  Im asking tiger fans "who will be there"  get loud and rowdy and lets give the tigers that energy they need to win this game.  As the scoreboard says in Tiger Stadium... "Welcome to Death Valley".  Geaux Tigers.

No doubt tiger stadium is a very tough place to play. However, Alabama has only lost there 4 times since 1970.

Wishing players get hurt just shows you ahve never played anytype sport. Why not wish for justa good hard hitting game and no one gets banged up. As for the hype and all the fans being crazy DRUNK,they don't play the game. Should be a good game for 1 qtr and then BAMA pulls away from you.

Bet Bama is more tougher than LSU!

10/26 8:12 PM | IP: Logged Not going to predict a score, just going to say this. You have a mediocre offense. It will not score more than Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee, or more than you did against Florida on Bama's defense. Bama has by a long, long way the best offense you have faced and will put up maybe double the points of Florida or Towson. You can go figure from there. Home field advantage won't be near enough and anyway we have a HUGE scoreboard on you in Death Valley when we have above average teams, so forget, 94 thru, 07. RTR!

It should be another great game and if we win 3-2, I'll be ecstatic.

We have a defense that will keep Alabama in check Crimsonite.  Bama has not faced one even remotely as good as ours. I think Bama is the better team and I admit that freely. Our offense has been awful because of injuries to our line.  We have lost 4 offensive line starters to injuries or issues (family situation) and what might have been the best Oline or second best Oline in the country has suffered.  The good news is it seems we are going to have 3 back at full strength Saturday night. Now the game swings to our 1st year starter at QB.  He has great possibilities, but has not lived-up to them --SO FAR.  If he does Bama will have a real battle with the only team in the NCAA with the speed, athleticism, talent and ability to go head to head with you.

Based on the bookies they are saying we have no shot, but based on recent history of winning 9 of the last 12 regular season games (that you mentioned) you know damn well that LSU if clicking on all cylinders is the most dangerous team you will play this season

Funny how a team that only holds a one game advantage since the Bear retired 31 years ago (16-15) over LSU acts like the bear is still there.  Thinks change.  For instance LSU is 9-3 regular season since the new century started in 2000 and out of those 3 losses 2 were in Baton Rouge.  I think that means Alabama was 2-4 in BR and 1-5 in Tuscaloosa.

Notice a trend?

My apology for the original poster talking about banged-up players. However, Lattimore was unable to play the next week because he was too bruised-up to play after the LSU game (he got 25 yds on 13 carries). I honestly don't think he was talking injuries like happened to Lattimore at Tennessee Saturday (my prayers are sent for this great kids full recovery).

As to 31--Bama is good, but so is LSU's defense.  You won't smell 31 even if you win

Im not saying i want Bama players to get hurt, What im saying is... Visiting teams playing LSU in Death Valley on a Saturday night, (players get hit hard and they prob feel it the next day) Tebow was lit up by the LSU defense when the high powered gators played LSU and lost in Death Valley.  If im DC Chavis, im asking my defense to level every Bama player that touches the ball, a late hit on the QB wont bother me "if we shake him up" its only 15 yards for that foul.  The LSU defense has to play with intensity and anger to score this win.  Im not saying hurt players but... hit hard and get the crowd involved to make it even harder for Bama.
10/29 4:51 PM | IP: Logged Foe you can quote the record sin e Bear until you are blue in the face and it means nothing on Saturday. We've had our problems during that span. The problem you have is that span is over and we've got us a Bear clone now. Say he's only 3-3 against you if you want, but 1 of those wins wad your Natty team and it took our QB handing you the ball inside our 20 and was one of our worst teams in history. The other 2 wins were excuseme's by 3 measly points. Our 3 wins were more of the dominant nature and 1 was a slaughter of your proclaimed best team in history. So in reality even with the series even, there is is seperation showing. As for your defense give me a break. I could make lots of examples like Florida's lack of offense as well as Awbies. Texas A&M's one dimenstional sissy offense tha scored 19 and should have scored more. And Towson? But the thing is you kniw damn well your defense is not as good as last year, and our offense is a hell of a lot better. Yes it will be the best we've played, so far we could have named the score in every gsme cause nobody hss slowed us down. You're nuts if you think your defense will impede this offense the way it did last year. And even if you hold us to 1/2 of our lowest score which would be 17 - that would be more than enough to beat you since your offense is not gonna score more than anybody else has, and that's a fact. RTR!

It will be a great game because we always get LSU's best, because of the extra week and because athletically, these teams are both loaded. You also have to know a few of their players still have that bad taste in their mouths from last year so it's all gonna be left out on that field Saturday.

Best of luck to both teams. I hope we both leave this game unscathed and that there isn't any controversy afterwards.

I love the fact that you want to selectively pick a point in time when Alabama was on probation and not a very good program.  If you really want to look at current trends, Alabama has played in BR twice since Saban has been the coach and the record is 1-1.  Looks fairly even to me.

Outside of the late hit I agree with you. There is no need for that, and this is the type of game where a 15 yard penalty will be huge. I expect this to be one of those "ice bag games" where both teams will leave everything on the field. There will be a little extra level of intensity behind every hit and I can't wait to see it.
10/30 3:22 PM | IP: Logged The trend moron is that since 2008 which is more indicative of how Bama is performing now on a regular basis you have 2 three point wins, 1 of which you nearly lost and the other in which you were clearly outplayed and our kickers gave you the game.

Furthermore the stupidass trend you are trying to reference was compiled including about 15 years of NCAA problems and therefore means absolutely nothing - nada, unless you are stupid enough to think Saban's teams still play like Shula's and Dumbos'. Which brings up another retarded statement. We are acting like we still have Bear??? I would have to agree to that. Except that his name is Sabear. And a damn good reason to act that way too. When we win the Natty this year Sabear will have done something Bear never did - he will have won 3 Natty's in 4 years. When we win it next year he will have done something no one has ever done and that is win a 3peat. True, Bear was cheated out of two 3peats by Notre Dame, but it is what it is. And Sabear has already done what no other coach has done and that is win 3 BCS Natty's and a Natty at 2 different schools. So yeah dummy we kinda, sorta still have Bear. 55-6 and 2 Natty's since 2008 says so! RTR!

Glad that this game has really become the # 1 most competitive annual game IN THE NATION and that two fanbases that are so passionate get to enjoy it.  I do not believe in the 10 point spread Vegas has and of course the vast majority of Bama fans think this is the hardest game on our schedule, and that includes the SEC and National Championship games should we survive this one.  Both teams have superior talent and ability to control the lines of scrimmage vs. about any other team in the nation.  I believe LSU would have beaten Florida if the game were in Baton Rouge and really would win that game 80% of the time, it just didn't work out that particular day.  Texas A&M is a very good team and to go over there and play a morning game and get the win is significant.

This Saturday night the biggest advantage I think most people see is AJ McCarron is playing at a 1st Team SEC level and Mettenberger is not.  I think LSU likely has a special teams advantage, although not as significant as the QB difference. Everything else is really quite close and I really expect a close game with all our players doing the best they can.  Like most games, turnovers and a few big plays will make the difference.

One statement I heard that made me happy as a Bama fan was that for LSU to win, Mettenberger cannot just be a game manager or even play to the level of his best game thus far this season.  For LSU to win, he will have to outplay McCarron, because Alabama is so good at protecting the ball (no turnovers) and both defenses will likely not have major breakdowns...meaning the QBs will have to make big plays.  Mettenberger is certainly capable and everyone respects his arm and physical prowess.  It's what is in between the ears and the confidence that McCarron has that seems to separate these teams going into this game.  But like many have said, the atmosphere will be unbelievable and Alabama will have to really play its best to overcome the emotion that LSU will play with.

I can't wait to watch what will undoubtedly be a classic college football game and I'm just lucky my team is good enough to consistently be a big part of these kind of games these days.
11/1 1:13 PM | IP: Logged The highest college football decible level ever recorded in the SEC was at Neyland Stadium. How has that been working out for them against Bama? It gets real quiet after a couple of 50 yard TD passes. RTR!

You failed to mention that the vols suck, but... leave it to you gump to forget that lol. "stupid is stupid does lol.  LSU has the nations longest home winning streak at 22 straight wins and 40 straight non conference wins in Death Valley.  Alabama first real test all season... will be in Death Valley, watch LSU dismantle Miss State next week also in Death Valley after we send Forest and Jenny home lol.

The Swamp is louder, Happy Valley is louder and Bryant Denny is right up there. This team is use to loud stadiums. They are use to hand signals. And we play our home games at night too. As for banged up after the game moron, you need to go talk to your own team and find out the truth about who was banged up the most after both games last year. LSU couldn't beat this Bama team if I was the QB. Bwaa Haww Haww! Get ready for another year of acid indigestion and cold sweat nightmares! RTR!

Gump... listen ok... Alabama fans like you "sicken me" first off... Ala-gump-bama is not unstoppable.  Tiger Stadium is a tough place to play in on Saturday nights, Lattimore only had 37 yards rushing and "hand signals " wont help if your qb is pressured, Last time Bama came to Death Valley "they lost" and that was a day game.  Take off your homer hat and accept the fact this game will be tough for Bama not to mention Bama players will get hit hard every time they touch the ball.  Death Valley has a mystique about it... Billy cannon kick off for TD on Halloween night to give the tigers the win, the earthquake game when Tommy Hodson threw a td pass to Eddie Fuller in the back of the endzone to beat then #2 ranked Auburn in 1988 which drew a earthquake reading after the crowd exploded, #1 ranked Florida with Jesse Palmer as qb got rocked that night and Florida went down.  The examples are endless, Death Valley as Coach Miles stated, "Dreams come to die here" for college football teams.
11/3 4:45 PM | IP: Logged
That earthquake crap is nothing but a myth. You Swamp rats love living in a fantasy world. Yeah, you won the last game there, just barely, when we were 10-3 and you were11-2. We won the game there before that in '08 with Shula's retooled flunky's. Bama is 26-9 in Death Valley where we go to kill LSWho's dreams. And that absurd quote from Miles has been hanging on Bama's locker room wall all week. Glad you hate me. You hate me because Bama has been your daddy for 107 years and you just can't stand it. It's you rat turds who are the rude ones. You don't see the lewd and crude tshirts, signs and innuendos in Tuscaloosa that are all over your campus tonight. So if you can't stand my type of Bama fan then that just makes my day. Bama is not intimidated by Death Valley, and as for pressuring McCarron - I guess you came up with some kind of damn miracle since you didn't even ruffle his hair in January with the same defensive line you have now - and our Oline is even better. So blow off. RTR!

Hey gump... one more stat for ya, "then im done with you Forrest" this is the first time since Saban has been at Alabama that he coaches his team at Death Valley for a "night game".  Death Valley is special at night and Saban should know that because he coached here,  now he is on the visitor side "at night" in Death Valley. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
11/3 5:26 PM | IP: Logged
I never considered it special and I've been going to games there for 48 years. In fact when I managed an oil field company out of Houma in the 80's I took clients to LSU games. There are 5th year seniors on this team who played there in '08 like All American Safety Robert Lester who has helped prepare the younger one's, not to mention that Saban's experience in Tiger Stadium is a huge plus for him to prepare the team. You people need to get a life. It's just as hard to win in the Swamp and maybe even harder to win in Happy Valley in front of 106,000 white clad fans. Don't blame you for liking your team. But you people are just down right rude, and with a team that isn't as good as the one we slaughtered in January, you are just setting yourselves up to look foolish. RTR!
