Alabama Preview

Mississippi State enters Saturday's game with Alabama in need of another win to help bolster it's NCAA Tournament resume.

The Bulldogs are 17-9 overall and in second place in the Southeastern Conference Western Division with a 7-4 mark but are three games back of leader LSU.

MSU has taken five straight games from the Crimson Tide including an 83-74 win earlier this season on Jan. 14. Despite the Bulldogs recent success, Alabama still leads the series 110-71.

State has not won two consecutive games over the Tide at Coleman Coliseum since the 1998 and 1999 seasons.

The Bulldogs snapped a two-game losing skid with a 75-70 comeback win over South Carolina on Wednesday. Mississippi State is averaging 74.8 points a game this season and have shot 44-percent from the field. They have made 37.2-percent of their attempts from 3-point land and hit 70.7-percent from the free throw line. The Bulldogs continue to lead the conference with 8.1 blocked shots a contest and are allowing opponents to score 68 points on average.
