Bryant set to enroll at MSU in July
Northwest Florida State College shooting guard Brian Bryant did not waste a lot of time becoming a Bulldog.
The 6-foot-3, 165-pounder from Albany, Ga., took his official visit to Starkville Nov. 15 and signed with Mississippi State two days later. Bryant simply felt like the Bulldogs were the right fit for him.
"They had a guard leaving at my position and it's a good school not only for basketball but academics as well," Bryant said. "When they brought me in on my visit, the tutor was very helpful telling me what I needed to take before I get there. I just liked the way their campus was and the coaches."
Bryant also had scholarship offers from Southern Miss and Auburn as well.
"Southern Mississippi was on me really hard and I took a visit there," Bryant said. "Auburn was my first offer during the summer but they signed two other freshman guards."
Bryant has led the Raiders to an 8-1 start this season with a team high 19.6 points per game. He is shooting 63-percent from the field including 13-of-36 from behind the arc. Bryant is also dishing out 5.4 assists and has 2.4 steals and pulling down 6.6 rebounds.
