Mississippi State will be vying for a 4-0 start in conference play today venturing across the state line to take on Alabama.
The 23rd ranked Bulldogs sit atop the SEC West and are 15-3 overall on the season and will be taking on an Alabama squad that has dropped three straight. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. at Coleman Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide hold the overall edge in the series 111-71 including a 71-14 record in games playing in Tuscaloosa. However, MSU has won five of the last six meetings.
The two twin state rivals split the series last season with the Bulldogs winning 83-74 in Starkville and dropping a 87-85 overtime decision on the road.
State comes into today's game shooting 45.8-percent from the field and averaging 75.3 points per game. The Bulldogs are leading the league knocking down 40.2-percent from downtown. They are outrebounding their opponents by 6.9 boards a contest and lead the SEC in nearly every defensive category including field goal percentage allowed, points allowed, blocks and rebounds.
