Knox attending first Super Bulldog Weekend

West Lauderdale (Miss.) tight end Daniel Knox may only have one scholarship offer but things are certainly starting to pickup on the recruiting front of late.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder has been making the rounds this spring with a pair of visits to Mississippi State, who has offered him, as well as stops at Ole Miss and Alabama.

"Things are starting to pickup a lot," Knox said. "More schools are starting to come in. Ole Miss and Alabama are starting to pickup. I went to State two days last week and I'm still liking that. I've talked to several coaches and they said they are going to be down to watch a practice or two this spring. We start spring in two weeks."

Knox, along with his father Richard, have made the trip up from their home in Collinsville to attend two of MSU's spring practices and have been impressed with how the Bulldogs look.

"Just from what I saw the other day they were taking strides from last year," Knox said. "They are adding more stuff from last year and it's a lot more intense with the offensive line. There was some popping going on out there. They will hit you and were looking good from what I saw of them."

Knox stated that the State coaching staff have made a pitch for him to commit early in order to help with the recruiting efforts for the rest of the 2011 class.
